Governor Profiles

Suzanne Moffatt

I was elected Parent Governor in November 2012. After completing their studies at Heaton Manor, my eldest child is studying Economics at Glasgow University and my second child is working in London and about to move to Canada. My youngest child started Heaton Manor in Sept 2012.

I originally trained as a Speech and Language Therapist and worked in the NHS and education, but for the last 25 years have worked at Newcastle University as a researcher and lecturer.

Prior to becoming a Governor, I was involved in setting up Friends of Heaton Manor and I am committed to building strong links between parents, carers, teachers and the school.

During my time as Parent Governor, I would like to better harness the potential contribution of parents and carers to benefit the school in the difficult times that we are facing. I am also passionate about the arts in education and am keen to contribute towards the development of Heaton Manor as a school that fulfils the potential of all its students.
