Lower School

Students in the Lower School follow the National Curriculum Key Stage 3 programme. This involves experiencing the following:

Upper School

In the Upper School, students are given more responsibility in guiding their learning experience. They further develop and build upon their skills and understanding learnt during their time in the Lower School.

Our aim is to motivate the students to continue to participate in physical activity when they leave school and to instil an awareness of the health and fitness benefits of exercise and also the social value of being involved in sport. For those who have a particular interest or ability, there is an opportunity to study GCSE or BTEC in Physical Education and Sport.

Students in the Upper School follow the National Curriculum Key Stage 4 programme. This involves experiencing the following:

Sixth Form

Sixth Form, students have the opportunity to study A level Physical Education. They can also sign up to Recreational Physical Education where lessons are catered to their specific needs and interests. Students are encouraged to help with lower school classes and assist with clubs and school events.

Due to the enthusiasm of the staff and the assistance of members of staff outside the department, we are able to offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities. A large number of teams play on a regular basis in leagues and cup competitions. Students are also encouraged to attend PE clubs because they enjoy the activity or sport and want to improve their skills.

We are very proud of the effort that staff put into facilitating our extra-curricular programme. The students enjoy attending the clubs and really improve their skills and understanding of the different sports on offer. Huge thanks go out to all the staff across the school who give up their free time to enrich the lives of our students.
