Ski Trip to France - Les Deux Alpes

At Easter, fifty two students and six staff travelled by luxury coach to Les Deux Alpes ski resort in France.  The resort sits at 1,650m (5,413 ft) and lifts run to up to 3,600m (11,811 ft). Les Deux Alpes has the largest skiable glacier in Europe.

We stayed at the Chalet d’Aka, which is a short walk away from the ski lifts and all other activities.  Students were able to eat as much food as they wanted, provided by the outstanding chef at the d’Aka.

Students had six days on the slopes and received five hours of expert tuition each day, to help them to learn to ski.  The instructors were able to teach our novice skiers the skills needed to try out some of the more challenging slopes the resort has to offer.

Every evening we enjoyed a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained.  The quiz and bingo nights proved popular, especially when the Easter egg chocolate prizes were awarded.  The skating was a huge hit with all students taking to the ice for some impressive attempts at gracefulness.

Outdoor swimming in the open air pool was enjoyed by many with amazing views of the slopes in the background.  We also headed to a local ten pin bowling alley to test our skills.
